Baha'i Winter Camp - La Chapelle
d'Abondance, France
From 15 to 21 February 2015, about 50 Baha'is and their friends gathered at
the Chalet Olinga in La Chapelle d'Abondance, Haute Savoie, in the French
Alps, for a week of study, art and recreation. They came from Belgium,
Luxembourg, Switzerland and Israel as well as France. The weather was
perfect, the snow abundant for those who wanted to ski, and a series of
classes explored the principles of unity and justice from different angles.
I gave the opening presentation on "Unité écologique et spirituelle"
(ecological and spiritual unity), and another on "La Justice économique"
(economic justice), as well as a class for the pre-youth. There were arts
workshops for painting, singing and video production, where we prepared a
report on the winter camp. One afternoon I snowshoed up to the frozen
waterfall across the valley, and part of the way up the mountain, but not as
far as I went two years ago.
