The Belgian Baha'i Summer School was held on 5-9 July 2019 in the little village of Durbey in rural Wallonia, in a chateau converted first into a convent and then into a rural vacation and conference center. Over a hundred participants of all ages engaged in seminars on the theme of "Diffusing the Divine Fragrances Today" or how to present Baha'i principles to a wide audience, as well as workshops with artistic activities or to discuss current issues. I was invited to make an evening presentation on The Role of the Baha'is in Addressing the Environment, and to lead five workshops to discuss issues such as responding to climate change and developing more environmentally-responsible lifestyles. One afternoon some of us went on a 6 kilometer walk through the adjacent countryside, while the more athletic ran a somewhat longer distance. It was a chance to admire the beauty of rural Belgium. I renewed old friendships and made new ones, since I last attended a Belgian Summer School twenty years ago.
