Family ties are important, especially when conditions reduce travel and physical contact. E-mail and telephone can only do so much. A family photo album is another way to cement deep family ties, especially between the past and the present, and ultimately for future generations. This part of my personal website (password protected) is for those aspects of family life that are personal and the family wishes to remain within the family.
The public part of my website is intended to teach the Bahá'í Faith, documenting both our Bahá'í heritage and my life of service, that hopefully might inspire others. These pages are for my immediate family and our descendants, who can then decide what might be shared more widely once the personal risks of the present Internet are no longer relevant.
For my grandchildren and great-grandchildren, these pages can tell more about their parents and grandparents than we could share ourselves. My older brother Keith lived most of his life in American Samoa, my brother Roger is in Illinois and my brother Gregory and his wife Emi are between Bulgaria and the Czech Republic for the moment, with three children studying in the USA, England and Ireland. Martine has settled in the Bourgogne region in central France, Agnès, Bahador, daughters Lia and Laleh and son Luca are in Geneva (not that I see them any more than anyone else) and Alexander, stepson Jérémie and his son Kovu, my grandson Benjamin and granddaughters Alie and Nalah are in Quebec (see also Travel pages for earlier family visits to California and Quebec). The earth is but one country...
This page is a brief introduction to my immediate family. Links are provided to other pages with more detail on specific events and family members. See also more recent family pictures at Martine's home at Ormes.
For a much more complete past family history on the public part of my web site, as well as a summary autobiography, see My life in pictures including past generations and where I have lived and served the Bahá'í Faith around the world. I am still working on a parallel story of my professional life and service.
